The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
